Job Overview: The Project Manager II is responsible for supporting project management and engineering activities, ensuring successful project execution while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities: Project Planning and Coordination: - Planning, coordinating, and managing project activities from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and construction, to ensure project goals are met.
- Prepare, update, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure quality standards, and identify potential risks or issues.
- Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and project proposals.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, team members, and vendors, to ensure alignment on project objectives.
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that arise during project execution.
- Manage up to 35-40 projects at a time in varying stages with a portfolio of $8 to $ 10 million
- Perform contracts negotiations and execution in direct supervision with the lead.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Work with cross-functional project teams, and mentor and guide newer and early career Project Managers
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing updates on project status, risks, and issues.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned project(s), ensuring clear and transparent communication among all team members and stakeholders.
- Handle project issues, changes, and escalations in a timely manner.
- Ensure that project risks are communicated to all stakeholders
Project Delivery and Evaluation: - Ensure that all project deliverables meet the agreed-upon scope, quality standards, and timelines.
- Monitor and track project progress, adjusting as needed to ensure successful completion.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successes, challenges, and areas for improvement
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Construction Management, or related field).
- 3+ years of general work experience OR 1 to 3 years Gate Industry experience
- PMP certification preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools).
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed
Working Conditions - Office environment with occasional overtime or weekend work required to meet project deadlines.
- Travel to client sites up to 10%
Work Schedule
- Up to 10% travel on-site with flexible work schedule
- Based in the Corporate office in Houston, TX when not travelling
- Office hours Monday – Friday 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
