**About the Role** Uber's Ethics, Compliance and Security Organization is looking for an experienced Physical Security Systems (PSS) Manager with Engineering or IT experience to lead our global security infrastructure initiatives and drive data-driven solutions that protect our assets while enabling business growth. This role combines traditional physical security expertise with modern data engineering practices to deliver comprehensive security solutions at enterprise scale. The Global Security team at Uber is dedicated to enabling innovation while protecting the communities we serve both online and in the physical world. We monitor global events and incidents, assess risk, and identify threats. Using a data-driven, risk-based approach, we assign security support, allocate resources, and design processes to protect our people and assets. In Uber's Global Security, our mission is to keep our people safe and secure. **What You'll Do:** + Lead experienced and global teams of System Administrators to triage and resolve security system incidents and maintenance issues, to include programming and commissioning of recently installed security devices to ensure timely delivery of services to global stakeholders. + Design, implement, and maintain Uber's technical security infrastructure, both on-premise and cloud, ensuring reliability, resilience, and efficiency of physical security systems on a global scale. + Collaborate effectively with Global Security stakeholders, including Regional Security Managers to identify and mitigate security risks, and 24/7 Regional Security Operations Centers to ensure the highest quality of services are provided to meet their needs + Leverage industry expertise to see around corners and further enhance security systems that fit Uber's current and future needs. + Collaborate with the Data Analytics team to extract, transform, and load data from multiple security applications into centralized data warehouses. + Implement data-driven approaches to reduce false alarms and improve system efficiency. + Lead vendor relationships and technology evaluation processes. **Basic Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical field. + 8+ years of experience in Physical Security System Design, Maintenance, and Reliability. + 2+ years of experience leading technical and/or global teams. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience in automation, data engineering, and system integrations. + Proficiency in modern software and data engineering, including programming in languages like Python and SQL, and experience building data pipelines and ETL processes. + Strong understanding of cloud-native infrastructure, including major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), Linux administration, and container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes. + Hands-on experience with enterprise physical security technologies, such as Access Control, Video Management, and Intrusion Detection systems. + Demonstrated breadth of experience leading a technical team and setting strategy for global operations; ability to get big, often complex, things done. + Experience managing a budget, security contracts, and purchase orders; ability to successfully manage vendor relationships. + The ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously in an exciting, fast-paced environment, both collaborating as a team to stay in sync and working independently to get the job done. + Strong interpersonal skills and highly collaborative with both business leaders and cross-functional partners, with a strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner across functions to build consensus. + Self-motivation with a strong affinity for vision setting, strategic problem solving, and driving action. + Embody the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and accountability. + Background in Security Operations Center (SOC) environments. + Project management experience with security infrastructure projects. + Knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements. + Experience with contract and NDA management. + Enthusiastic about Uber! For Dallas, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$128,000 per year - USD$142,500 per year. For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$142,000 per year - USD$158,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$142,000 per year - USD$158,000 per year. For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$142,000 per year - USD$158,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
