We are seeking a contract Senior Copywriter to write top-tier financial sales copy for our clients. This is a 
writing role, first and foremost, your focus will be on producing outstanding promotions and marketing 
materials with minimal oversight. You’ll take ownership of your projects and collaborate with junior writers as 
support to help you deliver exceptional results.

At Copy Squad, we specialize in writing sales copy for financial publishers, and we’re looking for a Senior Copywriter with a proven track record of success in this niche. You’ll start by writing promos to learn our systems and frameworks, and there will be opportunities for growth as you prove yourself, including expanded responsibility over client relationships and team leadership down the line.

Experience with digital info-product launches is a significant advantage for this role. Familiarity with the key
components and logistics of a successful launch will set you apart.

Responsibilities  

  • Write high-converting financial promotions, email sequences, and other marketing materials that deliver measurable results.
  • Crafting the sales copy up to the offer, approximately 5,000-6,000 words, with a Junior Copywriter handling the offer, emails, and upsells. Review these elements and provide feedback where necessary. 
  • Own the end-to-end process of producing exceptional copy, including research, drafting, and revisions.
  • Collaborate with junior writers who will assist in supporting your projects.
  • Take direction from Kyle Milligan, the Copy Chief, and incorporate feedback to align with Copy Squad’s proven systems and philosophies.
  • Hit deadlines consistently, ensuring work is delivered on time and meets Copy Squad’s high standards.
  • Learn and apply Copy Squad’s frameworks (like the Beats) to deliver clear, compelling, and proven copy.
  • Take full ownership of your work—no excuses, no finger-pointing.

Requirements  

This position is for a person who has:

  • Direct response copywriting experience (specifically info product launches) in the financial industry with a portfolio of proven results.
  • Has significant experience with long-form financial writing (VSLs, white papers, books, webinars, and sales articles. 
  • Strong understanding of what drives successful financial promotions and the ability to deliver copy that converts.
  • Previous sales experience (in person, over the phone, or call center) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with digital info-product launches.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight while producing high-quality work.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to hit tight deadlines.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and willingness to take full responsibility for your projects.
  • Comfortable working with clients and audiences with conservative viewpoints.
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism in all interactions.

This position is NOT for a person who prefers:

  • Content writing (blog posts, social media content, general marketing).
  • Past roles that are not well-suited for this role include Marketing Manager, Social Media Manager, or similar positions. 
  • Doesn't like long-form writing requiring regular projects of 5K-6K in words (over 20 pages).
  • Hasn't used proven writing formulas, swipes, or methodologies to write specific long-form ads for info product launches.  
  • Isn't willing to complete a test project to ensure you can do the work.

Additional requirements:

  • Available to work in U.S. time zones.
  • Access to a reliable computer and a distraction-free work environment.
  • Writers are responsible for crafting the sales copy up to the offer, with another writer handling the offer, emails, and upsells. 
  • Sample project to determine writing style and ability to follow guidelines
